No Leggings Required: A Lifestyle of Movement with Kodi Kitchen Berg
In this episode, I sit down with Kodi Kitchen Berg, Founder and CEO of Equipt, for a conversation that made me want to immediately grab my weights and dance around my kitchen.
Kodi built Equipt from a feeling — that fitness equipment was ugly, intimidating, and completely disconnected from the life she actually wanted to live. So she took a bag of sand to a tailor, described the shape in her head, and started building. No product engineering background. No roadmap. Just a full-body yes and a willingness to look foolish until she found the people who could see what she saw.
Today, Equipt's U-Bar and U-Wraps are in studios like Tracy Anderson and Formula by Meredith — and on coffee tables, hiking trails, London hotel rooms, and the wrists of women who just want to move in the life they're already living.
We talk about design as a portal to movement, what "no leggings required" actually means, how to build a business you love intentionally and slowly, and why community — not marketing — is what actually grows something real.
